What is a spam?
CNIL defines spam as a mass and sometimes repeated mailing of unwanted e-mails to persons the sender never had prior contact with and whose e-mail address was captured irregularly.
Spam is a real scourge not only for telecom industry, but also for users of electronic messaging. According to latest studies, more than 200 billion spam per day are sent worldwide. A study lead by Forrester Research
shows that spam, phishing and other malwares represent more than 90 % of worldwide e-mail circulation.

Spams have a significant impact on the environment. Studies on this subject revealed that their annual CO2 emissions are equal to more than 3 million cars i.e. more than 17 million tons!
